Mr. Countryman and Mrs. Wine's 8th Grade History classes are studying the Gold Rush of 1849 in California. They did a project where they pan for gold by using gold dirt from the Clear Creek River west of Golden, Colorado. Using actual gold pans they find gold flakes and gold dust. The students get to keep what they find. The students had fun.
