Greenwood County Historical Society Essay Contest Winners
Junior High English Classes Submit Essays

Several weeks ago students in the 7th and 8th grade were busy researching and writing an essay about Greenwood county history. They worked on these essays during their English classes taught by Mrs. Helm.The subject matter had to relate to Greenwood county history and have taken place before 1970. The essays were one to two pages in length and typed or handwritten nicely. Each essay must have had a bibliography with at least two sources.
The first place winner, Matthew Knobloch, won $15; the second place winner, Bryan Fankhauser, won $10; and the third place winner, Cassidy Barnard, won $5. Congratulations to these students!
