Basketball for Braysen

December 16, 2009

On Friday the Bulldogs hosted the SCC Titans. This was a special game as it was dedicated to a pre-k student and his family. Four year old Braysen Butter was recently diagnosed with neuroblastoma and is undergoing treatment at Children's Mercy in KC. The staff of USD #386 had a taco dinner with over 300 people served. They also had a raffle for a Wii that sold over 2000 tickets. Along with these fundraisers there was also buttons, bracelets, and t-shirts being sold. Fortunately, Braysen was released that afternoon from the hospital and able to attend the drawing and collect some special gifts. It was amazing to see the community support at the game--and all are keeping Braysen and his family in their prayers and thoughts.

The Lady Bulldogs lost to the SCC Titans with a score of 64-47. The Titans dominated the court with a 1st quarter score of 14-8 (SCC), half-time the score was 32-31 (SCC), 3rd quarter the score was 44-34 (SCC). Scorers for Madison were: Stout 18, Schankie 10, B. Shaklee 9, S. Buster 7 and M. Shaklee 3 points.

The Madison boys team beat SCC in a close game, 61-58. Scorers for Madison were: H. Ott 23, Kole Schankie 12, Childers 9, Nowell 8, Smith 4, Kale Schankie 3, and Thomsen 2 points.
